The Retro-Futurism
ประปาแม้นศรี - Bangkok Design Week 2024
ฺBangkok | Thailand
The Abandoned Water Tanks in the heart of the old-town Bangkok ,built in 1913 for the once-called Modern Water System, have become one of the centerpiece venues for Bangkok Design Week this year.
Even though The Water Tanks were built over a hundred years ago, they still exude Futuristic aesthetics even for the modern day. In contrary, A towering 6-story building confronting the tanks that was once an office for the Bangkok Metropolitan Waterworks, was built in Modernism, showcasing the beauty of its structures which reflects the functions within.
Shades of “Earth Light” were selected to represent the concept of ‘Retro-Futurism’. From the amber glow to the pale blue hue reflecting the passing moment from the nostalgic past to the dazzling future.
